As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

Through the primary election on August 6, we will highlight races for which the primary is the key race due to the voter base. The candidate’s website, professional information, and a sample of known endorsements are listed when available.

District Overview

The 6th Michigan House District is located in southeast Michigan. This is one of the districts the Michigan Supreme Court ordered to be redrawn earlier this year after finding the 2021 map was racially gerrymandered.

Commentary

Representative Natalie Price is running for a second term in the Michigan House. The district has a 63% Democratic base, meaning the winner of that primary is all but assured to win in November.

Democratic Candidates:

    • Joseph Fisher
    • Representative Natalie Price – State Representative, former Berkley City Council member.
      • Endorsements – Representative Lori Stone, Oakland County Treasurer Robert Wittenberg, Berkley Mayor Dan Terbrack, Oak Park Mayor Marian McClellan.

Republican Candidate:

    • Brent Lamkin
