Representative Matt Longjohn (D-Portage) is serving his first term in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Biography
He is a physician who has spent the last 25 years developing community health coalitions and innovations that prevent injury and illness. He’s led national initiatives to combat chronic disease, improve health equity, and advocate for strong environmental protections to safeguard natural resources. He was a fellow at the Altarum Institute and served on faculty at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
Representative Longjohn received his bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College and an M.D. and MPH from Tulane University.
District
Representative Longjohn represents the 40th House District in Portage, Oshtemo Township, Texas Township, and southwest Kalamazoo.
