Looking Ahead to the Week of November 4 – 10, 2023

As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

The House and Senate are scheduled to hold their typical Tuesday – Thursday session schedule. This might be the last week of session for the 2023 year.

Several communities across Michigan will hold local elections on Tuesday, November 7.  We are watching this closely as two Democratic members of the House are running for mayor of their respective cities. If they win, they will need to resign from the House which could upset the Democrats’ current 56-54 majority in the chamber.

The Michigan Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on November 8 and 9.

In observance of Veterans Day, MLC will be closed on Friday, November 10. State offices will also be closed.
