Legislation allowing the spouse and/or dependent of an active duty servicemember, serving overseas, to vote electronically was passed by the House this week.
- The legislation was introduced by Representative Carol Glanville (D-Walker).
- Under current law, active service duty members can vote electronically beginning in 2024.
- This bill expands that to include spouses or dependents of an overseas member who is also overseas, beginning August 1, 2025.
- The bill will be sent to the Senate for consideration.
