Jurisdictions in 49 Michigan counties held elections on August 8th; the polls were open for in-person voting in every jurisdiction.

Key Points:

  • Items on the ballots were millage, public school bond proposals, the City of South Haven primary mayoral election, and city council and county commissioners.
  • Constituents are voting under Proposal 2, signed into Michigan law in July. Proposal 2 introduces new rules that give Michiganders more options for casting their ballots.
  • Constituents can use their passport, military ID, or student ID for identification. Voters were given nine additional days for early voting.
