Senator Jeff Irwin (D-Ann Arbor) is serving his second term in the Michigan Senate.

Biography

Prior to his election to the Senate, he served from 2011 to 2017 in the Michigan House of Representatives. Senator Irwin also served as a Washtenaw County Commissioner.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan.

District

Senator Irwin represents the 15th Senate District, which includes parts of Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor Township, Lodi Township, Milan Township, and all of Augusta Township, Bridgewater Township, Clinton Township, Macon Township, Manchester, Manchester Township, Milan, Pittsfield Township, Saline, Saline Township, Superior Township, Tecumseh, Tecumseh Township, York Township, Ypsilanti, and Ypsilanti Township.

      • A – I don’t have one, I like to go to places I’ve never been.
    • What’s your favorite hobby other than politics?
      • A – Poker or basketball.
    • What did you want to be when you were a kid?
      • A – A professor.
    • What’s your favorite game to play or sport to watch and/or play?
      • A – Hockey, I play poorly, but with a lot of eagerness!
