Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt is serving his second term in the Michigan Senate. He previously served three terms in the Michigan House of Representatives, including serving as House Majority Floor Leader and chair of the House Energy and Technology Committee.
Between serving in the two chambers, Senator Nesbitt served as Michigan Lottery Commissioner under former Governor Rick Snyder. His previous work includes working on staff in the Michigan House and Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. He earned an economics degree from Hillsdale College and a master’s in international business from the Norwegian School of Economics.
Senator Nesbitt represents the 20th Senate District, which includes portions of Berrien, Van Buren, Allegan, and Kent Counties.
