Representative Mike Hoadley (R-Au Gres) is serving his second term in the Michigan House of Representatives.

Biography

He began his career in public service in 2017 when he was elected to the Au Gres City Council. In 2020, Representative Hoadley was elected Au Gres Mayor, serving until he was elected to the state House. Prior to that, he was a customer relations manager and owned a traditional archery manufacturing and supply business. He served in the U.S. Army from 1990 – 1994.

District

Representative Hoadley represents the 99th House District, which includes Arenac, Iosco, and Ogemaw Counties, and portions of Bay, Clare, and Gladwin Counties.

We asked Representative Hoadley a few questions to learn more about him:

    • What’s your favorite travel destination outside of Michigan?
      • A – As a favorite, I would say southern Florida. However, as an outdoorsman, I always enjoy traveling to lesser-known places, highlighting the serene beauty of rural America.
    • What’s your favorite hobby other than politics?
      • A – The shooting sports, including Archery.
    • What did you want to be when you were a kid?
      • A – My father was an MP (military police officer) in the Army before I entered Kindergarten, so I was drawn to military and law enforcement.
    • What’s your favorite game to play or sport to watch and/or play?
      • A – I still enjoy playing hockey and, of course, golf! Also, I enjoy watching the Lions and Redwings.
