Senate Republicans Introduce Economic Plan

Members of the Senate Republican Caucus introduced legislation this week they state will lead to economic growth in Michigan.

Key Points of the proposal:

    • Reenact Right to Work laws.
    • Disallow Michigan from making state regulations that are stricter than federal government regulations.
    • End programs such as MEGA and SOAR, which provide tax incentives to businesses.
    • Simplify the process for professionals to transfer their licenses from another state.

Next Steps:

    • The bills were referred to a number of committees for consideration, including Labor, Regulatory Affairs, and Health Policy.
