Primary Election Overview: 51st District

Through the primary election on August 6, we will highlight races for which the primary is the key race due to the voter base. The candidate’s website, professional information, and a sample of known endorsements are listed when available.

District Overview

The 51st House District is located in Oakland County, including White Lake, Highland, Milford, and a portion of Commerce. 

Commentary

Representative Matt Maddock is running for a fourth term in this safe Republican district, facing a locally elected official in the primary race. The winner of that primary is all but assured to win in November.
