District Overview
This southeast Michigan district is located in Macomb County. This is one of the districts impacted by the Michigan Supreme Court order to redraw a handful of House districts earlier this year after finding 2021 maps were racially gerrymandered.
Commentary
Representative Mai Xiong was elected to the House in a special general election in April to serve the remainder of the term, ending December 31, 2024. She is running this year for a full two-year term to the House. This seat is considered a safe Democratic seat, making that primary race the one to watch this August.
