District Overview

This district comprises portions of Wayne and Macomb Counties, including a portion of the City of Detroit.

Commentary

Representative Donavan McKinney opted to run in the 13th U.S. House of Representatives district instead of a third term in the Michigan House of Representatives. Like many in the region, this district has a strong 87% Democratic base, and the primary race is the one to watch this year.
