List of Gubernatorial Candidates Continues to Grow

As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

As of this week, eight candidates have put their hats in the ring for Governor of Michigan in next year’s election. Governor Gretchen Whitmer is serving her second term in office and can’t run for reelection due to term limits, leaving the seat wide open.

2026 is set to be a major election year in Michigan. Voters will head to the polls to elect a new governor, attorney general, and secretary of state. All 38 seats in the Michigan Senate and all 110 seats in the Michigan House of Representatives will also be on the ballot.
