Representative Alabas Farhat (D-Dearborn) and Representative Tom Kunse (R-Clare) have organized an official Michigan House of Representatives charity softball game.

Key Points:

    • The bipartisan game will take place on Wednesday, September 20.
    • The game will be played at Jackson Field in Lansing and is free to attend.
    • Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
    • This year’s charity is the City Rescue Mission of Lansing, which provides food, shelter, home goods, and clothing throughout the community.

“For our democracy to survive, we need people who have diverse ideas and general disagreements to be able to exist in common spaces,” Representative Farhat said. “At a macro level, that’s what we’re hoping to do. And on a micro level, we’re hoping to have some fun and raise some money for a good charity.”

“This is not about Republicans vs. Democrats,” Representative Kunse said. “It’s a unique opportunity for public servants from across the state and across the aisle to enjoy a spirited softball game and unite in our shared commitment to making a positive impact on our communities.”
