Leading up to the November 5 general election, we are highlighting races generally considered swing seats.
District Overview:
The district includes Holland, Park and Laketown Townships, and portions of Holland Township.
Commentary:
Republican Representative Nancy DeBoer is serving her second term in the House and running for reelection this November. This has historically been a safe Republican seat; however, the City of Holland and surrounding areas have been trending left, making this a highly competitive district. Additionally, in 2024, President Trump won this district by only a narrow margin of .03%. Incumbent Representative DeBoer will need to withstand a strong challenge from her Democratic opponent to return for a third term to the state legislature.
