United States:

- Consumer sentiment fell for the fourth consecutive month by 8.4% from the prior month.
- The consumer sentiment level in April was the lowest since June and July 2022.
- Oil prices fell 6.9% month-over-month and were 25.6% from the prior year.
Michigan:

- Seasonally adjusted wage and salary employment increased by 0.4% from the prior month.
- The professional/business services sector had the strongest job gains.
- Seasonally adjusted motor vehicle production grew 8.2% from March. However, it was 9.2% below the prior year.
- Michigan’s share of total motor vehicle production was the lowest since February 2024.
