Session Schedule Announced

As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

The majority floor leaders in the House and Senate released the session schedules for 2025. 

House of Representatives:

    • Under his role as the new Majority Floor Leader, Representative Bryan Posthumus (R-Rockford) released the schedule for the first six months of the year.
    • For the most part, the House will follow its typical Tuesday – Thursday session schedule, with the exception of the annual two-week break during the first two weeks of April.
    • The chamber meets at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and noon on Thursdays.

Senate:

    • Continuing in his role as Majority Floor Leader, Senator Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) released the schedule for the first six months of 2025.
    • During January, the schedule is slightly less than normal, picking up the traditional Tuesday – Thursday session schedule in February.
    • The Senate also takes a two-week break, however, they will break the last week of March and the first week of April.
    • The chamber meets at 10:00 a.m.
