Spotlight on Senator Rick Outman

As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

Senator Rick Outman (R-Six Lakes) serves as the Minority Vice Chair of the Health and Human Services Subcommittee, the Corrections and Judiciary Subcommittee, and the Veterans and Emergency Services Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Appropriations Committee, the Environment, Great Lakes and Energy Subcommittee, and the Energy and Environment Committee.

Senator Outman is serving his second term in the Michigan Senate after serving three terms in the Michigan House of Representatives. He is the owner of Outman Excavating. Senator Outman earned a Bachelor of Science in teaching from Grand Valley State University.

He represents the 33rd Senate District, which includes Montcalm and Newaygo counties, and portions of Ionia, Kent, Lake, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties.
