Senator Mark Huizenga (R-Walker) is serving his first full term in the Michigan Senate, after serving one year of a partial term.

Biography

He’s served in public service for years, beginning as a Walker Planning Commissioner from 2005 – 2011, a city commissioner for two years, then as mayor from 2013-2018. Before his election to the Senate, he served in the Michigan House of Representatives. He owns a consulting firm and is a managing partner of a local software company.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Calvin University and a master’s degree in management from Aquinas College.

District

Senator Huizenga represents the 30th Senate District, which includes portions of Kent and Ottawa counties.
