Spotlight on Representative Jason Hoskins

As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

Representative Jason Hoskins (D-Southfield) chairs the Economic Development and Small Business Committee. He is a member of the following committees: Ethics and Oversight, Judiciary, Local Government and Municipal Finance, Transportation Mobility and Infrastructure; and Insurance and Financial Services.

Representative Hoskins is serving his first term in the Michigan House of Representatives. Prior to his election to the House, he served on the Southfield City Council. He’s an attorney and served on the board of the ACLU of Michigan Metro-Detroit Branch. He previously worked as a legislative staff member to a former State Representative and State Senator. Additionally, he was an adjunct professor at Lawrence Tech University.

He represents the 18th Michigan House District, which includes Southfield, Lathrup Village, and portions of Farmington, Farmington Hills, and Oak Park.
