The Senate Republican caucus introduced a six-bill package aimed at restoring local control and lowering costs for Michigan residents.

The proposal would:

    • Repeal the 100% alternative energy requirement signed into law in 2023.
    • Restore local zoning authority for renewable energy projects.
    • Restore requirements for the Michigan Public Service Commission to authorize a shared savings program for energy waste reduction.
    • Shut down the newly established Community and Worker Economic Transition Office.
    • Prohibit agricultural property enrolled in Michigan’s farmland preservation program from being rented for the installation of massive solar operations.

Next Steps:

    • Senate Bills 322 – 327 were referred to the Senate Government Operations Committee for consideration.
