On February 12, Michigan’s restored prevailing wage law will take effect. In preparation, Michigan’s Wage and Hour Division is hosting a webinar to discuss the new Act’s implementation and answer questions.

Key Points:

    • In March 2023, the legislature passed, and Governor Whitmer signed, legislation reinstating Michigan’s prevailing wage law.
    • The bill didn’t receive immediate effect by the legislature; thus, it takes effect 90 days after the legislature adjourns Sine Die.
    • The new law requires every contractor and subcontractor in Michigan to pay the prevailing wage and benefit rates to employees working on most state funded construction projects.

The webinar will take place on Thursday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. Click here to join the event on Microsoft Teams.
