A new report shows Michigan continues to be a national leader in clean energy and electric vehicle manufacturing. Michigan is number one in the nation for President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act projects, resulting in more than $25 billion in new investments statewide, which helped the state reach this status.
“Thanks to the administration and our hardworking congressional delegation, Michigan is positioned to lead the future of clean energy production, which will help us create tens of thousands of good-paying new jobs, drive down costs for families, and protect our precious air, land, and lakes. With all these new projects and our new 100% clean energy by 2040 standard that we established last year, we are working towards a brighter, cleaner, and more sustainable future,” said Governor Whitmer.
Michigan projects funded through the Act include:
- $1.5 billion from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to restart the Palisades Nucl
Federal Inflation Reduction Act:
-
- Passed in 2022, it is the largest investment in climate and energy in American history.
