Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced two notably appointments.
30th Circuit Court:

- Governor Whitmer’s outgoing director of legislative affairs, Patti Tremblay, has been appointed to the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County.
- During her time in the executive office, she’s also served as deputy legal counsel and deputy director of legislative affairs.
- Tremblay served for nearly two decades in the Michigan House of Representatives in many roles, including chief legal counsel.
- She also previously worked as a lobbyist at MLC.
- Her appointment to the bench fills a partial term following the resignation of Judge Joyce Draganchuk. Her term commences on March 3, 2025, and expires on January 1, 2027.
Legislative Affairs Director:

- Kara Cook has been named as director, filling the vacancy following Patti Tremblay’s appointment.
- Cook most recently served as the State of Michigan’s Chief Climate and Energy Strategist.
- She’s previously served as chief of staff at the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy and a senior advisor on energy, natural resources, and environmental protection in the Whitmer administration.
