General Election Overview: 57th District

Through the general election on November 5, we will highlight races generally considered swing seats. The candidate’s website and professional information are listed when available.

District Overview

The 57th House District is located in Oakland and Macomb counties.

Commentary

Representative Thomas Kuhn is running for a second term in office in this toss-up district. This November he’s facing attorney Aisha Farooqi in the race to represent this seat next year.

Democratic Candidate:

    • Aisha Farooqi – Assistant Wayne County prosecuting attorney, former legal aid attorney, and member of the Sterling Heights Zoning Board of Appeals.

Republican Candidate:

    • Representative Thomas Kuhn – State Representative, attorney, former Royal Oak City Commissioner, Oakland County Commissioner, and Oakland Community College Trustee.
