Former State Senator Darwin Booher passed away on March 16. He began his public career serving as Osceola Township supervisor and assessor from 1978 to 2004. He was a well-known figure around the Capitol, serving as a State Representative from 2005 – 2010 and State Senator from 2011 – 2018.
“Senator Booher was dedicated to being the voice of his constituents in Lansing. I enjoyed working with him and partnering to make Michigan a great place to live and work. On behalf of the MLC team, we send our condolences to his family on their loss,” said MLC partner, Brendan Ringlever.
Prior to public service, he was vice president at First National Bank. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, four children, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two step-great-grandchildren. Please click here to read the former Senator’s obituary.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer ordered flags within the State Capitol Complex to be lowered to half-staff on Friday, March 21, to honor and remember former Senator Booher.
