Looking Ahead to the Week of April 18 – 24, 2026

As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

The House and Senate are scheduled to hold their typical Tuesday – Thursday session schedule.

The Michigan Democratic Party is hosting its convention on Saturday, April 18, in Detroit. They will vote to endorse candidates for Secretary of State, Attorney General, two candidates for the Michigan Supreme Court, two candidates for the State Board of Education, and candidates for university boards. April 21 is the filing deadline for partisan and nonpartisan candidates in the August primary election, along with candidates for the Appeals Court, Circuit Court, District Court, and Probate Court.
