Spotlight on Senator Sue Shink

As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

Senator Sue Shink (D-Ann Arbor) chairs the Natural Resources and Agriculture Committee and the Corrections and Judiciary Appropriations Subcommittee. Additionally, she is the vice chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee, and the Civil Rights, Judiciary and Public Safety Committee. She’s a member of the following committees: Appropriations, Energy and Environment, Housing and Human Services, Local Government, and the Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Appropriations Subcommittee.

Senator Shink is serving her first term in the Michigan Senate. Prior to being elected to the Senate, Shink served as Chair of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners and as a Northfield Township Trustee. She earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and law degrees from the University of Michigan.

She represents the 14th Senate District in Jackson and Washtenaw Counties.
