Emily Simmons has been a lobbyist at Michigan Legislative Consultants (MLC) since 2023. She brings hands-on legislative expertise and strategic vision to help MLC clients navigate state government and drive key legislation across the finish line.

Political and Legislative Experience

Prior to joining MLC full-time, Emily served as a legislative aide in the Michigan House of Representatives, where she worked on all aspects of legislation, including producing and tracking bills through the process. Additionally, she represented the office at events in the district and in Lansing and assisted with constituent services.

Her campaign experience began in college, working as an assistant campaign manager for a candidate for State Representative. She also later worked on a reelection campaign, helping to complete candidate endorsement surveys, creating campaign literature, designing graphics, and knocking on doors.

Emily’s path at MLC began during college, when she first worked with the firm as an intern.
