Governor Undertakes Economic Development

As MLC’s Communications and Social Media Manager, Liz Gullett keeps clients informed and up-to-date on the goings on in Lansing and the Capitol.

For the second time this year, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is on a trade mission in Europe. During this trip, the governor is visiting Austria and Latvia.

Key points: 

    • In Austria, Governor Whitmer met with AVL List GmbH executives, whose North American headquarters is located in Michigan.
    • The focus of the Austrian portion of the trip is economic development.
    • Governor Whitmer traveled to Latvia to meet with Michigan National Guard members.
    • While in Latvia, she met with President Egils Levits.

Importance:

As Michigan continues to present itself as a leader in mobility, state officials will continue to undertake steps to bring new and expanded business opportunities to the state.
