Speaker-Elect Jason Wentworth (R-Clare) appointed two new temporary committees that will serve over the next two to three months. The first is the Committee of Committees, which will work with both incoming and returning representatives to determine the best fit for committee assignments in the new legislative term beginning in January. It will be co-chaired by Representative Mike Mueller (R-Linden) and Representative Mary Whiteford (R-Casco Twp.).
The second is the Policy Action Plan Committee, co-chaired by Representative Graham Filler (R-DeWitt) and Representative Steve Johnson (R-Wayland). Members of the committee will begin meeting with the incoming House Republican caucus to discuss their top priorities for the new term and collect policy ideas to address the state’s biggest challenges. The committee will use that information to build the new House Republican Action Plan.
