Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson announced that Adam Reames will serve as the legislative policy director for the Department of State. Currently, he serves as the assistant secretary of the Michigan Senate, a position he’s held for more than 10 years. At the Senate, he oversaw legislative procedures, training for new members, and daily operations of the nonpartisan staff. Prior to that, he worked as a lobbyist, and held positions at the Michigan House of Representatives, and the Department of Transportation. Mr. Reames has a law degree from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Policy degree from Claremont Graduate University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. He begins his new role on January 6.
