This week, Steve Sliver was named executive director of the Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART). He was first assigned to the team in April 2018, serving as the Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) senior representative within the organization. Mr. Silver has worked in state government for 32-years, most recently as the former assistant director of DEQ’s Waste Management and Radiological Protection Division. He is taking over from former MPART executive director Carol Isaacs who retired at the end of 2018.
MPART was launched in 2017 through an Executive Directive by then-Governor Rick Snyder and was reestablished by Governor Gretchen Whitmer through an Executive Order earlier this year.
