Kate Massey has been appointed as the new Medicaid director by Robert Gordon, director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Most recently, Ms. Massey was chief executive officer for Magellan Complete Care of Virginia. She previously served as vice president for Medicaid and Medicare for Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States. Ms. Massey has also worked at the White House Office of Health Reform and as unit chief of the Low-Income Health Programs and Prescription Drug Units in the Congressional Budget Office.
Ms. Massey has a master’s degree in public affairs from the Lydon B. Johnson College of Public Policy at the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree from Bard College in New York.
