On Monday, Governor Rick Snyder announced the appointment of Sally Talberg as chair of the three-member Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). Ms. Talberg will replace current Chairman John Quackenbush, who intends to return to the private sector. He will continue as a commissioner until March 31, 2016 to help facilitate a smooth transition. Ms. Talberg was named to the MPSC in 2013. Before joining the commission, she was a senior consultant at Public Sector Consultants in Lansing. The MPSC is a regulatory body that oversees Michigan’s utilities to ensure safe and reliable energy and telecommunication services at reasonable prices. Mr. Quackenbush’s replacement on the commission hasn’t yet been announced.
