This week, the 298 Facilitation Workgroup released their interim report, reflecting the discussions and recommendations of the group. The Section 298 Initiative is a statewide effort to improve the coordination of physical health services and behavioral health services. The draft interim report, released for public review, contains a series of policy recommendations for the Legislature.
The workgroup was convened by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to assist with the development of recommendations. The group convened forty-four meetings to gather input from more than 1,076 Michigan residents. Public review of the draft will last from December 14, 2016 to January 4, 2017. After which time, the Department and the workgroup will create a final report for the Legislature.
