Beginning in January, Representative Thomas Albert (R-Lowell) will serve as chair of the House Appropriations Committee. He was appointed as chair by Speaker-elect Representative Jason Wentworth (R-Clare). Representative Albert is entering his third term in office. He currently serves on the House Appropriations Committee, serving as chair of the Corrections Subcommittee, and is a member on the following subcommittees: Agriculture and Rural Development, Military and Veterans Affairs and State Police, and School Aid and Department of Education.
Additionally, Representative Jim Lilly (R-Park Township) has been appointed chair of the House Rules and Competitiveness Committee, beginning in the new legislative term in January, which will be his third term in office. This committee will replace the House Ways and Means Committee. Currently he serves as vice chair of the House Ways and Means Committee and is a member of the House Government Operations Committee.
