On Thursday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the appointment of Robert Gordon as the new head of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Currently, he is the senior vice president of finance and global strategy for The College Board. In the Obama administration, Mr. Gordon served as acting assistant secretary at the Office of Planning, Evaluation, and Policy Development within the U.S. Department of Education and the acting deputy director at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. Additionally, he worked for the New York City Department of Education. Mr. Gordon earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and his J.D. from Yale University.
