This week, Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) Director Jamie Clover Adams was elected Secretary-Treasurer of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA). The election took place on September 24 during the NASDA annual meeting. This is the first time in more than twenty years that Michigan’s Director has served on the NASDA board. “On behalf of the MLC team, I send our congratulations to the Director! She is a great addition to the board and will be just as important of an asset on the national board as she is to her department,” said Brendan Ringlever of MLC.
As Secretary-Treasurer, Ms. Clover Adams will serve on the executive committee, chair the Audit and Finance Committee, serves as board liaison to the auditors and manage the board’s review of and action related to the board’s financial responsibilities.
Jamie Clover Adams was appointed Director of MDARD by Governor Rick Snyder in July 2012.
