Absentee voter ballots would be counted if they are mailed on or before election day under legislation introduced by Representative Yousef Rabhi (D-Ann Arbor). Given current public health concerns, it’s likely there will be a sharp increase in the number of voters utilizing this option in August and November. His bill ensures ballots are counted, as long as they are mailed on or before election day and are received within six days of the election.
Currently, there are seventeen other states that allow ballots received after election day to be counted.
