MLC President Elected to National Board

Sep 22, 2017

Last week at the annual convention of the National Association of State Lobbyists (NASL), MLC president Tim Ward was elected by his peers to serve on the association’s board.  Founded in 2003, NASL membership is limited to only one firm per state.  In order to become a member, a firm must be recommended by two NASL Board of Directors members.  Four years ago, MLC was invited to join the association as NASL’s Michigan member.

The additional new board members elected are:

  • Hawaii, Bruce Coppa
  • Illinois, Ben Whipple
  • Kentucky, Sean Cutter
  • Maine, Dan Riley
  • Massachusetts, Matt Irish
  • Minnesota, Todd Hill
  • New York, Amy Kellogg
  • New Mexico, Scott Scanland
  • Tennessee, Tony Thompson

The association was founded with several goals in mind; increasing industry awareness, foster best practices, promote integrity and credibility, and to work within the association to better the industry.  NASL has a high level of ethical standards for its members, shown through their own Code of Ethics.

Fellow MLC partner, Brendan Ringlever, and MLC lobbyist and procurement expert Tony Des Chenes, also attended the conference in Sun Valley, Idaho, and were present to congratulate Tim on his new national position.
