Michigan Legislative Consultants

His strong relationship building has been an asset to clients, including Goodwill, who approached MLC wanting to obtain an appropriation to expand their prison diversion program. Sean and the MLC team quickly navigated the process, providing a sizeable and measurable ROI to Goodwill by successfully securing a $2.5 million appropriation to expand its prison diversion program via job training. His work to help another client obtain an important statutory fix enabled them to more effectively collect fees by avoiding unnecessary legal fights – a valuable shift in their workflow.

When he’s not spreading his influence at the Capitol, Sean is heavily involved in volunteer and recreational activities in the city of Detroit. He is a board member to the Clark Park Coalition, Sergeant of Arms of the Carbon Athletic Club, and founder and CEO of Detroit City Football Club[soccer]. He is currently spearheading efforts to take DCFC from semipro to professional status and build Detroit’s first soccer specific stadium, a leap that demonstrates Sean’s passion for pushing boundaries and investing in the state.  He also is a German Marshall Fellow, a Larson Leadership Fellow at Urban Land Institute and an Eagle Scout.

Sean lives in Southwest Detroit with his wife, Rachel.

Sean holds a bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College and a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Bristol.
