According to numbers released this week by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November 2015 increased slightly to 5.1%, an increase of one-tenth of a percentage point. The workforce rose by 21,000 during the month, while total employment rose by 15,000 and the number of unemployed increased by 6,000. The rate remains lower than the November 2014 unemployment rate of 6.5%, however the 2015 rate is one-tenth of a percentage rate higher than the national rate of 5.0%.
